We check the pickup before we confirm

Before any booking is confirmed we ask about the driveway and the entrance at both ends: the surface, whether there is a flat spot to lower the lift, whether a full-size van can turn around, and how many steps there are.

This is not paperwork. A lift needs level ground, and there is a hard limit on how many steps we will ramp a wheelchair over. We would rather find the side door or the garage entrance while you are on the phone than have a driver discover the problem in your driveway on the morning of a procedure.

The drive

Ballantyne sits at the bottom of I-485. Uptown Charlotte is about 22 minutes in normal conditions and 32 to 37 at peak, and the merges at Providence Road and Rea Road stack up even with the express lanes. Ballantyne has no light-rail stop, so there is no way around the drive.

No. Ballantyne is inside our regular service area and we drive it every week, both to the medical center on Providence Road West and up I-485 to the uptown campuses. If your pickup is a Ballantyne address, we come to you.

Can you take me to Novant Ballantyne Medical Center and wait?

Yes. Wait and return means the driver stays on the property for the whole appointment. For sedation procedures, that is usually what the facility requires.

My mother uses a wheelchair and lives near Blakeney. Can she stay in her chair?
