Huntersville and north Mecklenburg 7 days a week Ambulatory and wheelchair

Huntersville does not send its residents south for routine care the way it used to. Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center on Gilead Road is a full hospital with an emergency department, surgery, imaging, and a radiation oncology suite in the same building. A few minutes away on Statesville Road, two separate outpatient centers handle endoscopy and same-day surgery.

Which creates a specific problem, quietly, several times a week. Those Statesville Road procedures use sedation. Sedation means you are not permitted to drive yourself home, and most centers will not begin the procedure at all unless a responsible adult is there to take you. Being ten minutes from the building does not help. The rule is about the sedation, not the distance.

That is where we come in. We are a private-pay medical transportation service based in Charlotte, and Huntersville is one of the areas we drive every week.

We also drive Huntersville riders south for appointments the town does not have: Novant Presbyterian and the Levine Cancer Institute in Uptown, Atrium Health specialists, and the Novant campus in Cornelius.

Coming home from the hospital

Discharge rarely happens on schedule. You are told late morning, then it is mid-afternoon, and whoever planned to drive has already used up the day. We do hospital discharge rides regularly, in ambulatory and wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and we screen the entrance and step count at home before the ride so the arrival is not the hard part.

What Our Clients Say

Our Google rating is 5.0 across more than 50 reviews.

Three ways to book

One-way

We take you there, or we bring you home. Priced as a single leg. It does not include a return.

Round trip

We take you and we come back for you. The return leg is guaranteed.

Wait & return

The driver stays on site for the whole visit, in the reception area if that is easier.

On wait and return, for minor procedures including colonoscopies, our driver can serve as the designated person the facility requires before it will perform or discharge the procedure. For the two centers on Statesville Road, that is often the specific thing standing between someone and their appointment date.

Every driver is CPR certified, PASS certified for wheelchair securement, and HIPAA trained. We use our own vehicles and our own drivers, so there is no third party in the middle and nobody to hand your ride off to.

We check the pickup before we confirm

Before any booking is confirmed we ask about the driveway and the entrance at both ends: the surface, whether there is a flat spot to lower the lift, whether a full-size van can turn around, and how many steps there are.

This matters more in Huntersville than people expect. A lot of the housing here is newer construction on sloped lots, with a step or two up to a front door and a driveway that pitches toward the street. A lift needs level ground, and there is a hard limit on how many steps we will ramp a wheelchair over. We would rather find the garage entrance while you are on the phone than have a driver discover the problem in your driveway on the morning of a procedure.

The drive

Everything from Huntersville to Charlotte runs on I-77. It is about 15 miles to Uptown, roughly 20 minutes when the road is clear and closer to 40 in the morning southbound rush. There is no lake crossing from Huntersville, which makes the drive more predictable than it is for riders further north, but I-77 is the only real artery and it does back up.

Appointments inside Huntersville are short hops. Gilead Road to Statesville Road is a matter of minutes. Tell us your appointment time when you book and we will work backward from it.

Common questions from Huntersville riders

You are based in Charlotte. Is Huntersville too far north for you?

No. Huntersville is inside our regular service area and we drive it every week, both to the medical center on Gilead Road and south on I-77 to the Uptown campuses. If your pickup is a Huntersville address, we come to you.

Can you take me to the endoscopy center on Statesville Road and wait?

Yes. Book wait and return. The driver stays on the property for the whole appointment rather than dropping you and coming back, which is what a sedation procedure normally requires.

I need a ride home after a colonoscopy and I do not have anyone to bring. Does that work?

Yes. Book wait and return. The driver is on site the whole time and can be the designated person the center needs before it will perform the procedure and discharge you.

My father is in assisted living in Huntersville. Can you pick up from there?

Yes. We pick up from assisted living and memory care communities the same way we pick up from a house. Tell us the community and which entrance staff use for transport, and we will confirm the door and the step count before the ride.

My appointment is Uptown at 8:00 in the morning. Will I-77 make me late?

Southbound I-77 in the morning is the reason we ask for your appointment time rather than a pickup time. We build the drive backward from when you need to be in the building, and on a peak-hour Uptown appointment that usually means leaving Huntersville meaningfully earlier than the map suggests.

Do you answer the phone at night?

Yes. Every call is answered, never voicemail. During our hours you are put through to the team on the spot. Calls that come in later are captured and worked, never dropped.
