Which creates a specific problem, quietly, several times a week. Those Statesville Road procedures use sedation. Sedation means you are not permitted to drive yourself home, and most centers will not begin the procedure at all unless a responsible adult is there to take you. Being ten minutes from the building does not help. The rule is about the sedation, not the distance.

We check the pickup before we confirm

Before any booking is confirmed we ask about the driveway and the entrance at both ends: the surface, whether there is a flat spot to lower the lift, whether a full-size van can turn around, and how many steps there are.

This matters more in Huntersville than people expect. A lot of the housing here is newer construction on sloped lots, with a step or two up to a front door and a driveway that pitches toward the street. A lift needs level ground, and there is a hard limit on how many steps we will ramp a wheelchair over. We would rather find the garage entrance while you are on the phone than have a driver discover the problem in your driveway on the morning of a procedure.

The drive

Everything from Huntersville to Charlotte runs on I-77. It is about 15 miles to Uptown, roughly 20 minutes when the road is clear and closer to 40 in the morning southbound rush. There is no lake crossing from Huntersville, which makes the drive more predictable than it is for riders further north, but I-77 is the only real artery and it does back up.

No. Huntersville is inside our regular service area and we drive it every week, both to the medical center on Gilead Road and south on I-77 to the Uptown campuses. If your pickup is a Huntersville address, we come to you.

Can you take me to the endoscopy center on Statesville Road and wait?

Yes. Book wait and return. The driver stays on the property for the whole appointment rather than dropping you and coming back, which is what a sedation procedure normally requires.

Southbound I-77 in the morning is the reason we ask for your appointment time rather than a pickup time. We build the drive backward from when you need to be in the building, and on a peak-hour Uptown appointment that usually means leaving Huntersville meaningfully earlier than the map suggests.

Do you answer the phone at night?
