Medical Transportation in Mint Hill
Private-pay rides to appointments, procedures, and home from the hospital, for Mint Hill and the neighborhoods inside 28227.
Mint Hill has something most towns its size do not. Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center opened on Healthcare Loop in 2018 and put an emergency room, surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, and women's services inside the town line. Imaging, breast imaging, and the Novant Health Cancer Institute all sit at that same address. For a lot of residents that turns a drive down Independence Boulevard into a five minute hop.
Five minutes does nothing about the part that actually stops people. Anesthesia, sedation, a dilated eye exam, a hold on driving after surgery: none of it scales with distance. The restriction is on you, not on the map, and the scheduler wants to know who is driving you home before anything goes on the calendar.
That is what we do. We are a private-pay medical transportation service based in Charlotte, and Mint Hill is one of the areas we drive every week.

We pick up from houses all over Mint Hill and from the senior living and rehabilitation communities here, including De Good Shephard Senior Living on Bridgewater Lane and Clear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation on Clear Creek Commerce Drive. Mint Hill carries an unusual number of 55 and over communities for its size, and those are addresses we drive to and from the same way. When the care is not in town, we take Mint Hill riders into Charlotte for specialists.
The hospital is in Mint Hill. Its mailing address is not.
Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center carries the town name, and the campus at 8201 Healthcare Loop mails as Charlotte, NC 28215. So the letter, the map result, and the sign at the door do not agree, which rattles anyone booking a ride for a parent from out of state. Nothing is wrong. It is one campus: emergency room, imaging, breast imaging, and the cancer institute all inside it. Say Healthcare Loop when you call and we know which building you mean.
What Our Clients Say
Our Google rating is 5.0 across more than 50 reviews.
Three ways to book
One-way
We take you there, or we bring you home. Priced as a single leg. It does not include a return.
Round trip
We take you and we come back for you. The return leg is guaranteed.
Wait & return
The driver stays on site for the whole visit, in the reception area if that is easier.
On wait and return, for minor procedures including colonoscopies, our driver can serve as the designated person the facility requires before it will perform or discharge the procedure. Mint Hill has no outpatient surgery or endoscopy center, so that appointment is somewhere else in the region, and wait and return collapses two rides into one booking.
Every driver is CPR certified, PASS certified for wheelchair securement, and HIPAA trained. We use our own vehicles and our own drivers, so there is no third party in the middle and nobody to hand your ride off to.
We check the pickup before we confirm
Before any booking is confirmed we ask about the driveway and the entrance at both ends: the surface, whether there is a flat spot to lower the lift, whether a full-size van can turn around, and how many steps there are.
Mint Hill still has large lots and long private drives, some of them gravel, sitting a mile from newer subdivisions with tight cul-de-sacs. Both raise the same question at the curb. A lift needs level ground, and there is a hard limit on how many steps we will ramp a wheelchair over. Sorting out the gravel apron or the side door on the phone beats a driver finding it on the morning of a procedure.
The drive
Mint Hill sits about thirteen miles from Uptown Charlotte and there are two ways in. Independence Boulevard is the direct one, and it is also the one that stacks up at lights the closer you get to the city. I-485 looks longer on a map and is often the calmer road.
Rides inside Mint Hill barely register next to that. The hospital campus is minutes from most addresses in town, and so is the urgent care on Cresthill Drive. Give us the appointment time and we plan backward from it instead of from a map estimate.
Common questions from Mint Hill riders
Is there anywhere in Mint Hill to have a colonoscopy or minor outpatient surgery?
No. Mint Hill has a hospital, imaging, and cancer care in town, but no outpatient surgery center or endoscopy center. A practice with a Mint Hill office normally schedules the procedure at one of its other locations in the region. We drive you out, stay on site, and bring you home.
I have chemotherapy at the cancer institute over several weeks. Do I book each one separately?
No. Read us the schedule when you call and we set the whole sequence up at once. The cancer institute is on the hospital campus on Healthcare Loop, so each one is a short ride, and a course of treatment is what wears out favors from family.
My mother is in one of the 55 and over communities in Mint Hill. Can you pick up there?
Yes. Retirement and rehabilitation communities are addresses we drive to and from, no different from a private house, and Mint Hill has many. Tell us the building and which entrance the staff use for transport, and we confirm it before the ride rather than on the day.
Do you take Independence Boulevard or I-485 to get into Charlotte?
Whichever one is honest for your appointment time. Independence is shorter, and the stretch closer to the city is where the delay lives. I-485 adds miles and frequently gives them back. We decide once you give us the time and the destination.
Is Mint Hill Medical Park the same place as the hospital?
Not quite. Mint Hill Medical Park is a two-building medical office campus near I-485 and Albemarle Road, next door to the hospital, and it holds practices rather than hospital departments. If your letter names a building and a suite, read us both and we put you down at the right door.
Do you answer the phone at night?
Yes. Every call is answered, never voicemail. During our hours you are put through to the team on the spot. Calls that come in later are captured and worked, never dropped.
